Chippewa National Forest Real EstateOur company’s namesake comes from the name given to the area in Northern Minnesota that we reside in, and also commonly refers to Highway 38, a designated National Scenic Byway. One visit, and you’ll see why it’s so appropriate; to take in the incredible sight of the Chippewa National Forest is to take in close to getting away from “civilization” you’ve come.
The forest, named after the Chippewa Indians that originally lived there, covers 1.6 million acres, and holds over 1,300 lakes and 920 miles of streams and rivers. The majority of the land is part of the Leech Lake Indian Reservation – the rest falls in the counties of Beltrami, Cass, and Itasca.
The recreation options provided by Chippewa National Forest are an incredible resource to those living in Marcell, Bigfork, Grand Rapids, and the surrounding Itasca County area. These include: biking, camping, horseback riding, canoeing, cross country skiing, fishing, bird watching, hiking, hunting, off-road vehicle riding, and of course, snowmobiling.
Call it Chippewa National Forest real estate, call it Northern Minnesota real estate; however you refer to it, we reside within an incredible force of nature. We take pride in calling it Edge of the Wilderness real estate, and ourselves Edge of the Wilderness Realty.
